KIPP Scholar Academy is a tuition-free, college-preparatory charter public middle school in South Los Angeles and is part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network of 224 schools in 20 states and Washington, DC.

KIPP Scholar Academy aims for every student to learn to read music at a level that would enable them to play proficiently. Every student receives daily instruction in music in addition to core subjects, because we believe music education increases creativity and critical-thinking skills. Each grade level adds musical complexity and sophistication, allowing students to focus on a specific instrument and create their own music.
