Our application allows you to indicate geographic preferences within Los Angeles (East LA, Southeast LA, South LA, and Compton) and for our one school site in San Diego. Our team will consider your preferences in matching with our open roles at different school sites.
Applicants who move forward will be invited to an initial interview (conducted by phone or virtual platform) by a member of our Talent team. Please be ready to share electronic copies of any items related to credentialing such as transcripts, CBEST scores, or other proof of licensure. Also, we strongly suggest sharing any links to teaching videos you may have.
Applicants who move forward from the initial interview will be invited for a final interview at one or possibly two of our KIPP SoCal schools, or with a Hiring Manager for regional-support roles. While each school’s selection process varies slightly, for teaching roles, you should expect to complete a final interview with leaders of the school, as well as teaching a sample lesson.
Applicants who complete a final interview will be notified of their status and those selected will receive an offer to officially join the KIPP SoCal Public School Team & Family. Your status is typically known within 24 hours of completing your final interview.

Earn Your CA Preliminary Credential and Masters in Teaching: The KIPP SoCal Residency program is a prestigious one-year program that provides a unique opportunity for aspiring teachers to learn alongside mentor teachers during a one year year. Residents gradually take on more instructional responsibilities during the year and have a dedicated hiring event just for them upon the program’s completion.
