Our KIPP SoCal Approach
At KIPP SoCal elementary and middle schools, our whole-child approach follows our KIPPsters along their path to and through college. Our approach not only focuses on rigorous academics, but also provides character development, enrichment, activities, social-emotional learning, physical and mental health programs, and the nurturing of one's purpose.
Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose -- college, career, and beyond -- so they can lead fulfilling lives and create a more just world.

Our Elementary Schools
Our award-winning elementary schools, grades TK-4, are founded on community, care and the cultivation of a love of learning. Our goal is to ensure that we see, develop, and inspire the greatest potential in each KIPPster. There is a strong emphasis on foundational literacy, conceptual math, and exposure to a multitude of STEAM experiences (science, technology, engineering, arts and math).
In 2017, KIPP SoCal elementary schools performed in the top 10% of all elementary schools in the state of California on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress test.
Middle school is the place and space to begin the development of our KIPPsters' identities as informed and engaged citizens of their school, their communities and of the world. They learn to think deeply, to write passionately, and to engage thoughtfully through rigorous learning experiences that see, develop, and inspire their greatest potential.
At KIPP SoCal, 94% of middle-school alumni graduate from high school. Students meet with their KIPP Through College counselors in seventh grade and develop relationships with their mentors throughout high school, college, and career.
We are committed to ensuring that our approximately 8,300 elementary and middle school students are able to learn, grow, and dream. This is our responsibility as educators and as global citizens.
