Middle School
In middle school, KIPP Forward counselors introduce KIPP families to a variety of high school options, providing support throughout the high school placement process and transition into high school.
Our TK–8 schools prove what’s possible for your child. At KIPP, college-readiness begins the moment students step into a KIPP classroom.
Carol’s journey didn’t begin with her college acceptance — it began years earlier at KIPP Raíces Academy and KIPP LA Prep. Through strong academics, cultural pride, and consistent encouragement, she built the confidence and skills to pursue her goals. Today, she’s thriving at Stanford and giving back to students like her. Her story shows what’s possible when preparation, belief, and opportunity come together from day one.
KIPP Forward is sustained by philanthropy, and committed to ensuring students receive the customized support services needed to thrive.
We provide support for over 10,000 students & alumni.
Our college matriculation rate is 30% higher than the rate of their national peers.
KIPP SoCal 8th grade alumni graduate college at 3x the rate of their national peers.
Our alumni in high school receive 5x more personal college counseling than national peers.

Carol’s journey is one example of what’s possible when support doesn’t stop after middle school. While KIPP SoCal serves students through eighth grade, many of our alumni choose to stay connected through KIPP Forward — a program that continues guiding them through high school, college, and beyond. From navigating applications to staying on track in college, KIPP Forward ensures students don’t have to figure it out alone.
Not sure where to start? We’ll help you find the right school and guide you through the process.
College readiness means your child’s journey begins the moment they walk through our doors and continues with the support, guidance, and belief they need to walk confidently through doors of their own. When you choose KIPP, you’re choosing that promise from day one.
Carol’s journey began at KIPP Raíces Academy and KIPP LA Prep, where college culture is part of everyday life. From classrooms named after colleges to chants of “Who’s going to college?” — “I’m going to college!” — students begin to see what’s possible from the very start.
Through enrichment opportunities like Folklórico, Carol found pride in her culture and a creative outlet for her energy. At KIPP, students are encouraged to explore who they are, build confidence, and see their identities as strengths — both inside and outside the classroom.
By the time Carol applied to college, she wasn’t starting from scratch — she was building on years of preparation. With strong academics, consistent support, and guidance through KIPP Forward, she was ready to walk through the doors she worked toward.
KIPP Forward supports students long after middle school by providing one-on-one guidance through high school, college, and career pathways. Students like Carol have the tools, support, and community they need to succeed — and someone walking alongside them every step of the way.
