On November 20, KIPP SoCal families gathered to celebrate something special — the inaugural United Voices Fall Choral Festival, a joyful evening of music, connection, and community.
Hosted at the Tabernacle of Faith Baptist Church, the festival united students from three KIPP SoCal middle schools for a remarkable musical performance. Students supported one another, built new friendships, and worked side by side to prepare for a concert they could feel proud of.

Scholars from KIPP Scholar Academy, KIPP Academy of Opportunity, and KIPP Comienza Upper School each shared individual choir performances that highlighted their hard work and love for music. The program also opened and concluded with an inspiring mass choir performance, in which all students came together on stage, filling the room with harmony and underscoring how special it is when our schools unite as one community.
This special day would not have been possible without the dedication and passion of our incredible choir directors: Andrew Cox from KIPP Academy of Opportunity, Marquise Brown from KIPP Scholar, and Carla Miller-Kupchenko from KIPP Comienza Upper School. Their leadership, creativity, and commitment to their students helped bring United Voices to life and ensured every scholar felt supported and ready to shine.

More than a concert, United Voices was an opportunity for students to build confidence, express themselves creatively, and experience the joy of performing in a supportive, welcoming environment. Families, staff, and community members cheered them on, making the day even more meaningful for our scholars.
Moments like these show how the arts bring students together, strengthen community, and create memories that last far beyond the stage — one of the many reasons families continue to #ChooseKIPP.
