Family Ambassador Program

KIPP SoCal’s Family Ambassadors are a group of family leaders focused on elevating family voices at our schools and in our communities to ensure that every child has an opportunity for a world-class education. Started in 2015, this network of leaders (from across our schools) receive tools to become KIPP SoCal Ambassadors and act as agents of change in their community.

Be A KIPP Advocate

Our mission is to teach the academic skills, foster the intellectual habits and cultivate the character traits needed for our students to thrive in life. Through the success of our students, the KIPP team will serve as a model of excellence and collaborate with others to raise the quality of education for the nearly 950,000 students attending low-performing schools across Southern California. To accomplish this, we need KIPP SoCal Advocates who can:

  • Share stories about the impact of KIPP in your life, a child's life, a family or community;
  • Engage our families in schools and our neighbors in the community;
  • Join us at meetings and events to create a visual presence of our collective power!

Sign up to become a KIPP SoCal Advocate for opportunities to use your power and elevate our voices in support of our KIPPsters!

KIPP Voices

Families share their stories on how KIPP SoCal has empowered community and families in supporting their child’s learning.

"KIPP schools are excellent schools because they inspire excellence not just in the students they educate, but also in the parents they partner with to advocate for our children and our communities.”

“I am a part of KIPP SoCal Family Ambassador program, and I have been extremely impressed by their programming and emphasis on building a community. This program helps us not only become better advocates for our children, but partners in their education.”

“The Family Ambassador program host important civic engagement events. The irony was that when I first joined the program, I myself was not registered to vote. I didn’t believe that my vote mattered, and I’d lost faith in the political system. After attending a civic engagement presentation, I realized not only that my vote counts but that it’s my birthright, and I needed to join the movement.”
