KIPP Compton Walks for Hope at the 4th Annual Compton Walk 4 A Cure

Last month, KIPP Compton proudly joined the community at the 4th Annual Compton Walk 4 A Cure — an inspiring event dedicated to raising awareness for breast cancer and honoring those whose lives have been touched by it.

Hosted by Compton Unified Board Member Satra Zurita, her sister and former Compton City Councilmember Janna Zurita, and St. John Community Health, the walk brought families, educators, survivors, and local leaders together in a powerful show of unity and support.

KIPP Compton families and team members walked side by side to celebrate survivors, uplift those currently fighting breast cancer, and remember loved ones lost. Along the route, our team was honored to connect with community leaders, including CUSD Superintendent Dr. Brawley, CUSD Vice President Michael Hooper, and Councilmember Jonathan Bowers.

We are grateful to be part of moments that bring our community together in hope, healing, and strength. Together, we continue walking toward a future where every family feels supported and seen.
