Christine Massieh
School Leader, KIPP Adelante
Christine is a San Diego native raised by Egyptian immigrant parents and one of five siblings, her roots in this city run deep—and so does her commitment to its future. Her journey in education began in 2009, student teaching in San Diego’s elementary and middle schools before earning a teaching degree from San Diego State University and joining Teach For America in Dallas. There, she taught science across grade levels and discovered her true purpose: using education to unlock opportunity and reimagine what’s possible for kids. While in Dallas, she earned a Master’s in Urban Educational Leadership and later served over six years in school leadership—three as assistant principal and three as principal—focused on expanding student opportunities and cultivating strong, supported teaching teams. She leads with a core belief: we lead best when we lead with love and intention, creating spaces where every student is seen, every teacher is valued, and every decision is grounded in care, clarity, and purpose. Returning home to San Diego, she is not just here to lead a school—she is here to help build a movement. KIPP’s mission of joyful, academically excellent schools aligns with everything she stands for, and she can’t wait to partner with this incredible community to do the work, together.
