KIPP Ignite Educators Raise $1,500 at Record-Breaking McTeacher’s Night

Earlier this fall, KIPP Ignite teachers traded their classrooms for the counter serving up smiles, fries, and plenty of school spirit during a special McTeacher’s Night at the McDonald’s on Slauson Avenue.

The beloved fundraising event brought together families, students, and community members for an evening of connection — and a whole lot of fun.

Throughout the night, Ignite educators jumped behind the register and drive-thru window, greeting families, taking orders, and sharing laughs with students who couldn’t believe their teachers were working at McDonald’s. In turn, families showed up in full force to support their school, filling the restaurant with joy and community pride.

Thanks to this extraordinary turnout, 20% of all food sales from the event were donated directly to KIPP Ignite — totaling $1,500, the highest-earning McTeacher’s Night ever at that location. Every dollar raised will help support meaningful school experiences for Ignite scholars.

We are incredibly proud of our KIPP Ignite educators for their energy, dedication, and creativity both inside and outside the classroom. Thank you to our families, McDonald’s partners, and everyone who made this record-breaking night possible!
