We believe that where you start in life should not dictate where you finish.
KIPP SoCal operates 19 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools educating nearly 8,200 students and successfully supporting 4,300 alumni to and through college. For the past 15 years, our award winning schools have been part of the national KIPP network, our college matriculation rates have ranked 20% higher than the national average (nearly double the rate for students from low-income communities), and our alumni have matriculated to a diverse range of prestigious colleges and universities across the country.
Still, there is more work to be done to provide high quality educational opportunity for the 950,000 students now attending low-performing schools across Southern California today. Together, we're creating the pathway to a future where every child has a chance to succeed and investing in a more equitable world of promise and hope. We are grateful for your support.
Proving the Possible

"I want to be a journalist and focus on the stories of low-income people, people of color — social justice. I want to reach out to my community organizations and tell their stories through journalism.”
After Perez entered high school, she relied on a counselor provided by the KIPP Through College Program to help her navigate the college application process, read over her essays and look for scholarship options. “Being a first-generation student, it was very hard for me,” Perez said. “I would cry a lot, I was very stressed out. I was emotionally and mentally distant because I was always focusing on what I had to do, but I didn’t know how.” Perez applied to 12 colleges, and matriculated to UCLA because of its proximity to home as well as the supportive financial aid package.
