Cynthia Reza Thomas
Director of Advocacy & Community Engagement
Cynthia Reza Thomas is the Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement at KIPP SoCal Public Schools. Cynthia was born and raised in South Los Angeles. She first joined the KIPP Team & Family back in 2010 as a TFA Bay Area Corps Member. She was the founding 11th grade Spanish Teacher at KIPP San Jose Collegiate (KSJC) in San Jose, California. At KSJC, aside from her teaching responsibilities, she was the Spanish Department Chair and the Family Engagement Coordinator. In 2017, she was able to establish the KSJC International Travel Program which gave students, families, alumni, and staff the opportunity to go on educational field trips abroad to places such as Costa Rica, Japan, Spain, and Greece to just name a few.
In 2021, Cynthia decided to move back to Los Angeles, to be closer to her family and to complete her Master’s in Education program at UCLA. Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations & Spanish from Bucknell University and a Master of Education in Student Affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles.
