Claudia Solórzano

School Leader, KIPP Corazón Academy

Ms. Solórzano was born in Los Angeles. She was raised in Los Angeles, Huntington Park, and eventually in South Gate. She graduated from South Gate High School. She studied Human Development at Cal State Long Beach. While working on her B.A., she worked as a computer lab teacher and after-school program supervisor for LAUSD with students ages 5-18. She received her teaching credentials at Cal State Long Beach. When she graduated, Ms. Solórzano worked at a charter school in Long Beach for seven years. She taught Kindergarten through fourth grade during her time at this school. Ms. Solórzano earned her Master's in School Administration from Loyola Marymount University in the fall of 2010. In 2012, Ms. Solórzano came to KIPP Raíces Academy as a third-grade teacher and taught third-grade for five years. In July of 2017, she transitioned into her role as an administrator at Raíces. In 2019, she moved to KIPP Academy of Innovation as Assistant School Leader. Outside of school, she enjoys going to Disneyland, spending time with family and friends, reading, swimming, cooking, working out, and taking her dog Kuma on walks.
