After waiting 12 years for a permanent home, KIPP Scholar Academy (KSA) proudly unveiled its new, state-of-the-art campus to our beloved South LA community during a beautiful ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 4.

The three-story building opened in January 2024 and spans 38,297 square feet. It features 22 classrooms, two music studios for our renowned KSA choir and band, and a multi-purpose/performance space. The building also features 5,000 square feet of outdoor play area and 3,800 square feet of multi-purpose outdoor space.

The ceremony's theme, "Renaissance: Proud of the Past, Committed to the Future," was showcased throughout the program with captivating performances from KSA's band, choir, and dance team, featuring songs from Beyoncé's "Renaissance" album.

The program also included touching remarks from notable community leaders, including Councilmember Curren Price and Southeast Neighborhood Council President Moises Rosales, and guided tours showcasing the new cutting-edge campus.

"Our ultimate goal is to empower our musical Scholars to go to and through college, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and resilience needed for success. This school will be a beacon of hope, a place where dreams take flight, and aspirations are nurtured," said KSA School Leader Tommy McConnell.

Together, we celebrated our past and embraced our commitment to shaping the future of education in South LA for our students and community.
