A Message From Our CEO
At KIPP SoCal, we’re committed to creating joyful, academically excellent schools where diverse identities are affirmed, voices are heard, and our students can envision what a just world is and feels like. Together, our KIPPsters are lighting ever-wider paths to opportunity and change. For themselves. For all those who will follow them. And for us all.
Our Students
Together with students and families, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose — college, career, and beyond — so they can lead fulfilling lives and create a more just world.
KIPP SoCal is an independent nonprofit organization that operates 23 tuition-free, open-enrollment charter public schools, educating more than 9,800 students, within 19 Local Education Agencies, and supporting over 8,000 students and alumni to and through college.
Our award–winning schools focus on a whole-child approach to learning and are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) network of charter public schools, dedicated to meeting the needs of all learners and providing the social, emotional, and academic support for success in high school, college, and life.

Our Approach
We will spend time understanding our purpose for education, and continuously reflecting on our bias and ways that it may impact our students’ liberation and ability to be the strongest and most confident students that they can be.

Whole-Child Approach
Together, we are navigating new worlds and fostering a learning environment that allows our KIPPsters to step into their power and create a better world for themselves and their communities. Our Whole-Child Approach focuses not only on rigorous academics, but provides character development, identity affirmation, enrichment activities, social-emotional learning, and mental health programs to ensure that we holistically nurture purpose and pathways.

Together for Justice
At KIPP SoCal, we are committed to understanding racism as a system into which we have all been socialized, recognizing our systemic racial patterns to learn and grow, continuously reflecting on our biases and ways it may impact our students’ liberation, and raising our critical consciousness action by action, decision by decision.
We are dedicated to engaging in on-going self-awareness, continuing education, relationship building, and actual anti-racist practice within ourselves and within our organization:
Our Commitment
We strive to create environments in which all members of our school communities can bring their full identity and experience forward. We believe the best work we do is grounded in the realities of our families and students, and remain committed to the causes of racial justice and equitable opportunity.

Empowered Alumni
We work with students to identify their passion, purpose, and plan to support them in leading fulfilling lives and creating a more just world. Our vision is for all students to have the access, skills, and resources necessary to thrive. Our KIPP Through College (KTC)team — 100% philanthropically funded — provides structured support focused on college readiness, persistence, completion, and career success. KIPP SoCal students receive financial literacy, college and career programming, and access to internship, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities.
KIPP Through College was with me throughout the whole college application process. They gave me opportunities to connect with new people and organizations and helped me realize my true potential.
I’m so grateful for all the help I received from KTC. I feel so much more confident about my future and my college path.
Being a first generation student, we won’t always know what to do or how to do it, but KTC provided me with a support system that guided me to graduate.
KIPP Through College helped me get ready for college by setting high standards and helping me to achieve my goals.
KIPP is Community
At KIPP SoCal, we embrace the role our communities’ play in our students success stories. We honor the importance of community legacy and history, connect families with community organizations and resources, and believe in the power of advocacy and civic engagement as we work together to create a more equitable and socially just world.
The Family Ambassador program has introduced me to so many wonderful people — it has given me the skills to be empowered and to create the change I wish to see in my community.
