Commitment to Excellence

Teacher/School Leader Commitment.

We will commit to the KIPP Promesa school community in the following ways:

  • Doing whatever it takes to teach the academic skills, cultivate the character traits, provide the learning experiences and forge the community relationships needed for our students to thrive in middle school, high school, college and life.
  • Being available to parents and students by phone and in person.
  • Arriving at school on time and working hard and staying throughout the school day. 
  • Participating fully in grade-level and staff development meetings throughout the year.
  • Living and teaching the values - love, grit, integrity, and reflection.
  • Working purposefully and intentionally to meet our professional and student achievement goals and outcomes.
  • Making decisions that are in the best interest of all our students.

Parent/Guardian Commitment.

We will commit to the KIPP Promesa school community in the following ways:

  • Helping our child in the best way we know how and will do whatever it takes to support him/her in learning the academic skills, the character traits and participating in the learning experiences needed for our him/her to thrive in middle school, high school, college and life.
  • Reading with our child and carefully checking all papers s/he brings home including homework every night.
  • Calling the teacher if we have a question or concern about the homework in order to complete all assignments.
  • Making ourselves available to our children and the school in order to address any concerns.
  • If our child is going to miss school, we will notify the teacher or school office as soon as possible.
  • Giving permission for our child to participate in all supplemental instruction as needed or enrichment activities.
  • Making sure our child follows the KIPP Promesa dress code and arrives in uniform every day.
  • Understanding that our child must follow the KIPP Promesa rules and values in order to protect the safety, interests, and rights of all individuals in the school.  We will be responsible for the behavior and actions of our child.
  • Making sure our child arrives at KIPP Promesa everyday on time prepared to learn and stays throughout the instructional day, including supplemental instructional opportunities.
  • Attending and participating in meetings and conferences.
  • Exemplifying the values- love, grit, integrity, and reflection, every day with our child, the staff and other families.

Student Commitment.

I will commit to the KIPP Promesa community in the following ways:

  • I will always come to school prepared to work hard, make good choices and live the KIPP Promesa values. I will do whatever it takes for me and my fellow schoolmates learn and become leaders.
  • I will always try my best when completing my homework every night and my class work every day.
  • I will ask for help when I have a problem or question.
  • I will follow the KIPP Promesa dress code and come to school in uniform every day.
  • I will attend KIPP Promesa summer school and all mandatory instructional opportunities.
  • I will arrive and be prepared to learn at KIPP Promesa on time everyday.
  • I will be responsible for my own behavior and choices, and understand I will receive consequences when I make bad choices.  I will respect and carry out the consequences I am given.
