Tessa Mizokami

School Leader, KIPP Pueblo Unido

Tessa Mizokami is the Founding School Leader at KIPP Pueblo Unido. Previously, she was an Assistant School Leader at KIPP Vida Prep and a Dean at KIPP Iluminar Academy. Prior to joining the KIPP LA team and family, Tessa taught at Rocketship Education in the Bay Area. She received her BA with a double major in Latin American Studies and Political Science from UC Santa Cruz. Tessa is a first generation college graduate and is originally from Los Angeles. She takes pride in being part of a large family that is of a mixed Japanese and Colombian heritage, and loves to spend her free time with them. Tessa is passionate about leveraging the collective strengths of the communities we serve in Southeast LA to ensure all students thrive in college and beyond.
