Mario Echeverria

Co-School Leader, KIPP Corazón Academy

Mario Echeverria is the founding Co-School Leader of KIPP Corazón Academy Upper School in South Gate. Mario joined KIPP SoCal as a founding third grade teacher at KIPP Raíces Academy in 2011. In 2014, he transitioned to become a founding fifth‑grade ELA teacher at KIPP Academy of Innovation. At Innovation, he went on to found sixth‑grade ELA and became a Dean in 2016. During his first six years with KIPP, Mario has served as a Lead Teacher, Grade Level Chair, Content Lead, Innovation Coordinator, and Restorative Justice Coordinator. Mario received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of San Francisco with a minor in Lan American Studies, a Master’s Degree of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix and a second Master’s Degree of Education in School Administration from Loyola Marymount University.
