5:15PM: Earlier today, security and law enforcement officials found that all KIPP LA schools are safe and secure after a thorough investigation following LAUSD protocols. We will resume normal school hours tomorrow (Wednesday, December 16) morning and welcome your children back to school.
Student safety remains our number one priority. We will continue to work with LAUSD, local law enforcement, and our communities to ensure the safety of our students.
Please feel free to contact school staff with any questions. Again, thank you for your patience and flexibility today.
4:35PM: Following LAUSD protocol, security and law enforcement officials have completed a search of all 13 KIPP LA schools and found that they are safe and secure. We will not reopen any of our schools until given approval from LAUSD. Thank you for your patience and flexibility today. We will keep you updated on further developments.
12:31PM: LAUSD is closed today due to a credible threat. Currently, we do not have details and there are no safety concerns at any KIPP LA schools, but as a precaution, all of our schools will be closed today. We are engaging our security company to bring in current/former police officers to do a walk through of our sites to ensure that nothing is out of order. In times like these, the safety of our students and team and family is our top priority.
Parents, please contact your school leadership for more details. Thank you for your support and flexibility this morning and please stay safe.
